Why didn’t anyone mention that a $25 fee is a small price to pay for a friend you just stayed with? If you are close enough to be her houseguest, you should be happy to do this for her.

Where did you stay when visiting your friend? Her house? Did she charge you for the extra hot water you used while there? The air you breathed? The towels you used?

Twice I’ve traveled and twice, with no change in the contents of my suitcase the weight has been different. There is no way to know the extra item did it unless you removed it and had them re-weigh your suitcase. Different scales, different calibration. If it’s all you can think about when you talk to your friend say something. If it’s really not that important, let it go.

Let it go. Friendships have been ruined over far worse. Besides, if you ask for the money, she’ll write to the Mouthy Housewives about this friend of hers who asked for reimbursement over a bottle of wine.
